Event Supporters

 

Like many sporting events, Ireman Triathlon relies on the good will and support of a large number of organisations, companies and individuals.

 

We are lucky to have great relationships with our supporters. It is easy to accept some sponsorship money from a funder, but in Groomsport we feel that money is much less important than the positive relationships that can be built up in the promotion of sport in general and triathlon in particular.

 

Very few of our supporters provide financial backing but they provide their expertise and time which is every bit as important.

 

Please support them where you can.

 

The guys at Bikeworks provide mechanical services to the event, both during registration and on race day. They carry a full range quality kit. The shop, located on the Bangor ring road, is certaily worth a visit while in the area.

 

ChampionChip provide electronic timing to the races, producing comprehensive finish and split times for competitors. A remote tracking system allows us to monitor the cycle laps from the control tent ensuring a safe and fair race.

 

Triangle Triathlon Club's kit is supplied by Champion System who provide a rull range of customised cycle and triathlon gear.

 

Cyclists Fighting Cancer is the official charity partner of Ireman. Cyclists Fighting Cancer is a charity whose purpose is to provide bikes, adapted tricycles and equipment to children and young people whose lives have been affected by cancer. Their bikes provide a fun and practical way to regain lost strength, fitness and confidence.

 

The local football club takes time out during the closed season to provide car parking, changing and showering facilities to Ireman competitors. Their facilities remove much of the traffic off the race course, ensuring a safer event.

 

Our run route takes competitors through Windsor Holiday Park, a development with stunning views over Belfast Lough.

 

Water safety cover is managed by Mobile Team Adventure. This cover usually consists of anything up to 20 paddlers in kayaks and canadian canoes, supported by at least two motorised craft. When not helping out at Ireman, MTA deliver kayak coaching, team building and adventure services to individuals, businesses, schools and councils.

 

Like many events across the country, Ireman is dependent on the willingness of landowners providing access. Our run route takes athletes across Ballymacormick Point, one of Northern Ireland's beautiful National Trust properties.

 

North Down Borough Council have been a source of support, through their tourism/events grant scheme, since 2007. There continued involvement ensures the successful delivery of the race.

 

Pioneer Group provide marketing and advertising support to the event. Ireman is one of many musical and sporting events which benefits from the professionism of the group.

 

Ireman benefits from the funding provided by SportNI to Triathlon Ireland, ensuring that the governing body is equipped to run a well established race sanctioning process.

 

Triathlon Ireland appoint a number of trained Technical and Motorcycle Officials to work on the Ireman races. These independent officials add greatly to the safety and fairness of the event.

 

As overall sponsors of the Triathlon Ireland National Series, Vodafone have been involved in the recent growth of the series in particular but also triathlon more generally.
